Psionrisley.netfmtdate
A Trivial Macro for Macro5 and EPOC

What it Does

I am incredibly lazy. I found that I hated typing dates such as 09/05/1999 because of the awkwardness of typing the slash on the Psion keyboard. With fmtdate, I just type "0905" and invoke the macro, and it expands it to the full date. Sophisticated heuristics have been added to accomodate non-U.S. dates of the form dd/mm/yyyy.

Warning! fmtdate is not Year 2000 Compliant. risley.net's team of postdoctorate computer scientists are currently working overtime to insure that a Y2K ready version of fmtdate is available by year's end.
