I am incredibly lazy. I found that I hated typing dates such as 09/05/1999 because of the awkwardness of typing the slash on the Psion keyboard. With fmtdate
, I just type "0905" and invoke the macro, and it expands it to the full date. Sophisticated heuristics have been added to accomodate non-U.S. dates of the form dd/mm/yyyy.
