How to block popup-windows with iCab?

Open iCab -> Preferences, select JavaScript, select Filters, uncheck Scripts may: open windows automatically. I also uncheck the change location, size and stacking order options, because it really annoys me when pages I want to load in the background leap to the front demanding my attention.

I did the three uncheck that you suggest and it worked as promised. I was afraid it would disable those JavaScript which open windows and size them on click. It doesn't: it just does what you say.

Now and then, it does [disable those JavaScript which open windows and size them on click] -- parts of sites go mysteriously dead. In those cases, you just need a Filter Manager entry to reverse the setting for that site smile

Historical note: iCab was actually the first web browser to allow blocking popup-windows. In fact, the capability of opening windows using JavaScript was added along with a preferences option to disable this capability in iCab 1.9a in early 2000, so iCab was quite literally always able to block pop-ups. smile
